The story is written in a first-person narrative style, where the protagonist — the mouse — narrates the story to the readers.

About the Author: Although the credit for the author as mentioned in the covers of the book is given to the title character, Geronimo Stilton, the idea was conceived by Elisabetta Dami. Elisabetta was born in Milan, Italy in 1958. She is an Italian writer who writes books for children. She is the daughter of the publisher Piero Dami. Elisabetta started her career as a proofreader in her father's publishing house and then went on to become a writer.
